SBI launches green initiative in Mangaluru

‘Mangalore - Go Green’ campaign was inaugurated on the premises of State Bank of India main branch in the city on Wednesday. As part of the campaign, a sapling will be gifted to each new customer.

The campaign was inaugurated by SBI Bangalore Circle Chief General Manager Rajni Mishra by handing over the saplings to the new customers.

With this initiative, the customers will grow financially and the city will go greener with more trees, she observed.

On the new products and services of the bank, she said that Mobile Wallet is a new product in which financial transactions can be done without using paper.

Chhota ATMs
The bank will add more Chhota ATMs in the city, wherein a customer can withdraw up to Rs 1,000 daily. Also, the bank plans to open more Chhota branches in the days to come, she added.

SBI Mangalore Regional Manager K Gundu Rao said every new customer who opens an account in the bank will be given a sapling  along with pass book, ATM debit card, Internet Banking and Mobile Wallet.

On August 28, saplings will be distributed to the existing and the new customers and citizens, with an undertaking by customers that they will nurture their saplings, at all branches of SBI in the city.

After eight months, an inspection will be conducted by SBI and Rotary Club team.
The customers with best grown plants will be rewarded.

New customers
Ten new customers of Mallikatta and Mangalore Main Branch, including Nympha Sadan, Assissi School, Shanthi Dham, Deralakatte and St Antony's Charitable Institute, were handed over saplings and pass book, along with the welcome kits.

SBI Network -2 General Manager Y Vijay Kumar, SBI Network -2 Zone -2 DGM Girija Prasad Ray, DGM (SME) Madhusudan G Reddy Rotary Club and Mangalore Rotary Club President Yathish Baikampadi were present.
