
Indian and United States officials have started preparing grounds for the proposed meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Barack Obama.
Modi will be travelling to New York to attend the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in the last week of September and he is likely to meet Obama on the sideline of the meet.
Modi will also travel to California after attending the conclave. New Delhi is yet to decide if Modi will also take part in the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Modi will be in the US from September 23 to 28.
Nisha Biswal, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, met Indian government officials in New Delhi on Thursday.
Apart from discussing the prime minister’s possible meeting with the US president, they also discussed about India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue, which too will be held in Washington DC next month.
