The second complaint of rape charges against Ramachandrapura Mutt seer Raghveshwara Bharathi Swami would be referred to the CID, said Home Minister K J George on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, George said the CID was already probing the first case where the seer has been accused of sexually assaulting a singer.
"As the CID is already probing one such allegation against the same person, the second complaint too would be referred to the agency," he said.
He also dismissed allegations that there was political pressure on the CID not to file a charge sheet against the seer.
"There is no such pressure on the CID. It has been given free hand to carry out the investigations. The charge sheet will be submitted to the court soon," he added.
