<p>Embroiled in a controversy over depiction of his picture in a magazine as Lord Vishnu, cricketer M S Dhoni has approached the Supreme Court seeking quashing of criminal proceedings initiated against him in a Bengaluru court.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Dhoni found himself on the wrong side on law after the “Business Today” published a representative picture putting his face in its cover page in April 2013 as Lord Vishnu. He was accused of hurting the religious sentiments.<br /><br />In a writ petition, he contended he was not even aware of publication of his picture in such a manner.<br /><br /> He claimed since he has also not given any permission of publishing such an image in the magazine, so no mens rea could be attracted. <br /><br />The cricker has sought immediate stay and quashing of the proceedings started against him before the Bengaluru court.</p>
