Body of a 30-year-old man with stab wounds was recovered from the service lane of Ring Road near Safdarjung Hospital in south Delhi. The man worked with a cable company in Safdurjung Enclave, police said.

On Thursday around 10 pm, a passer-by spotted Amit lying unconscious with blood splattered all over him on the service lane of Ring Road at the stretch between Safdarjung Hospital and Hyatt Hotel, police said.

The passer-by immediately took the victim to the AIIMS trauma centre, where he was declared brought dead, police said.

Amit was already dead when the man spotted him, and what was more surprising is that nobody in the busy stretch of the road reported any incident of stabbing or a scuffle.

Amit is a resident of Faridabad and had been working in a cable company in Safdurjung Enclave for the last few years, said a police officer.

Earlier, he used to commute on his motorcycle. But for the last few days, he had been travelling on Metro, the officer added. On Thursday also, he signed off from his office around 9 pm and told his colleagues that he would take a Metro train to return.

According to his parents, he had no enemy or personal enmity with anyone, however, for the last few days, he had been a bit depressed. According to one of the officer investigating the case, his valuables were intact which rules out robbery as a motive of his death.

After the incident, police have started monitoring CCTV footage of the area, and they are also talking to the victim’s colleagues, said a police officer investigating the case.
