Lion dies at Bannerghatta Biological Park

Six- year- old lion Sahadev, who was ill from the past few days, died on Thursday at the Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP).

Sahadev, born in BBP on February 12, 2010, was ill from September 19. He was kept
under continuous observation and was diagnosed with respiratory distress, lungs
edema and pneumonia like lesions after an Ultrasonography.

The lion, Sahadev, was not responding to treatment and succumbed to respiratory failure. Visceral samples of the animal were sent to the Institute of Animal Health and Veterinary Biologicals for clinical examination.
