6th mainline container vessel calls at NMPT

The vessel has unloaded 176 TEUs of Raw cashew for distribution among the local cashew processing units and loaded 206 TEUs of export cargo like fish meal, fish oil and granite to Far East countries and sailed back to East Africa on February 2.

This is the 6th Mainline vessel calling at the Port during the current financial year. The exporters have availed 50 percent savings in freight charges compared to feeder vessels on account of less freight and less transit time, informed a press release.
