A man, accused of murdering a person and assaulting another, was arrested from northeast Delhi’s Seemapuri.

The incident happened on October 20, when the deceased, Rizwan, and his two friends were standing outside their office. Around 9 pm, Mohd Firoz, 21, came to the area with a caged mouse and intending it to release there.

Seeing him releasing the mouse in front of their office, the trio objected, which led to a heated argument. After the altercation the man went away from the spot, and threatened them with dire consequences upon returning, police said.

After few minutes the accused came back to the spot along with his associates who were armed with sharp weapons.

Seeing the attackers, the victims tried to console the accused but he attacked Rizwan and Mohd. Muzaffar and escaped from the spot. The injured were taken to the nearby hospital where Rizwan died during treatment, but Muzaffar survived with major wounds, they said.

On Thursday, after receiving secret information about the presence of one of the accused in Seemapuri, the police team swiftly acted on the information and nabbed the culprit.
