JOIN USPugazhendi slammed four goals as Pondicherry University, Puducherry thrashed Karnataka State Women’s University 10-0 in a first round tie of the the South Zone inter-university women’s hockey tournament at the University of Mysore hockey grounds here on Monday.
Pondicherry University opened the scoring in the first minute through Pugazhendi, who went on to score in the 11th, 38th and 53rd minute as well.
Pushpalatha (11th minute), Manimeghalai (19th, 24th minute), Diji K Dass (48th minute) and Tamilselvi (52nd, 58th minute) also mangaed to get onto the scoresheet to complete the rout.
In another fixture, R Anasuya scored four goals to help Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore drub VTU, Belgaum 9-1.
