Two people were killed in separate accidents in the city. A 60-year-old pedestrian was mowed down by a vehicle on Summanahalli flyover in Kamakshipalya in the early hours of Friday.

The police said Anayappa, a resident of Laggere, was taking a morning walk on the flyover around 5.30 when a vehicle knocked him down and sped away. Passersby informed the police who shifted him to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.
In another incident, a 25-year-old man died after ramming his motorbike into a stationary truck on Devanahalli flyover on Wednesday night.

The deceased, Nityananda Patra, a native of Odisha and resident of Chikkajala, failed to notice the truck parked on the road and rammed into it. He suffered injuries and was rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared him ‘dead on arrival’. Police seized the truck and arrested the driver, Prabhakar, who said he parked the vehicle on side of the road to check its overheating engine.
