Leaders from the Karnataka unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) immersed ashes of Ashok Singhal, the former international working president of VHP, at Cauvery sangama in Srirangapatna on Sunday. Singhal passed away on November 17.
VHP State unit secretary Basavaraj immersed the ashes after performing rituals as per Hindu customs. The pot containing ashes was brought amid vedic chantings. A team of priests lead by Bhanuprakash Sharma, performed the rituals. VHP State unit Vice-president Shankarappa, Ganjam Adi Shankara Mutt’s seer Ganesha Swaroopanandagiri Swamy were present.
