Vijaya Bank's biz transaction has crossed Rs 2 lakh crore, says MD

Vijaya Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kishore Sansi said the business transactions of the bank have crossed Rs 2,10,000 crore in September 2015.

The total business figure in Mangaluru is nearly Rs 4,400 crore, he added.

Addressing media persons at Vijaya Bank Regional Office in Mangaluru on Tuesday, he said the Net Interest Margin (NIM) has improved from 1.88 per cent in December 2014 to 2.30 per cent in September 2011. The CD ratio improved from 63.79 per cent to 70.59 per cent during the same period. The retail credit of the bank has attained a y-o-y growth of nearly 20 per cent, he added.

He said that Rs 900 crore is financed by the bank towards Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana in the current fiscal. The bank has accorded priority to agricultural sector and upliftment of self-help groups (SHGs).

As a part of its CSR programmes, the bank has adopted 105 girl children so far and the cost of education of these children, up to graduation level, will be borne by the bank, he added.

The other activities of the bank include sponsoring of medical camps, an exclusive Rural Health Centre at Polali and development of Kadri Park. The bank is also running Vijaya Rural Development Foundation, a NGO, Sansi said.

Vijaya Bank Head Office DGM Anil Kumar Shetty and Head Office, Bengaluru, General Manager Sathish Ballal were present.
