CM rules out CBI probe into scholar's murder

Last Updated 01 December 2015, 19:55 IST
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday rejected the BJP’s demand that probe of M M Kalburgi should be handed over to CBI.

The chief minister said the CBI had failed to unearth truth in murder of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar in Maharashtra. “There is no logic in handing over investigation to the central agency,” he said.  Siddaramaiah was in the National Capital to meet party top brass for finalising the party candidates for the forthcoming Council polls. He also dismissed the allegations made by BJP MP, Pralhad Joshi in Parliament, that the CID of the State government has stopped probe due to shortage of fund.

“There is no dearth of fund for the CID. Probe is in progress and we are confident of finding truth behind the murder”, he said.
