Dismayed by the slow pace of the Agri Gold probe by the CID, the high court in Hyderabad asked the government to change the investigating officer.
A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice D B Bhosale and Justice S V Bhatt felt any further delay in the probe would jeopardise justice for hundreds and thousands of depositors looking for succour.
“How many were questioned so far and how many were taken into custody in the past two months” the bench asked the government, directing the three-member panel overseeing the auction of assets and distribution to select liquidators in a fortnight.
