Five Engineer Regiment, one of the oldest and most decorated units in the Corps of Engineers, celebrated its golden jubilee here at the Madras Engineer Group and Centre in the City on Monday.
As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, Five Engineer Regiment organised ‘Sapper Mela’ in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala, which are the primary contributors to the regiment in terms of personnel.
The celebrations were attended by Indo-Pak war veterans of 1965 and 1971. Homage was paid to the martyrs on the occasion.
