Security guard found murdered at ATM

A security guard of an ATM at Hebbal in the city, was found murdered on Sunday. He is suspected to have been  killed by a drug addict over a petty issue.

Sadananda (60) is the deceased, who is suspected to have been murdered by Abhishek, 27, a resident of Lokanayaka Nagar.

Interestingly, hours before the incident, Abhishek was summoned to Metagalli police station, following his father’s complaint. Abhishek’s father had orally complained to the police the same day, about his son creating ruckus at the house under the influence of narcotics. The police personnel had advised him to heed to his parents’ words, before letting him off.

However, Abhishek, who did not return home with his father, took a detour and landed at the ATM where Sadananda was on duty. He requested a beedi and Sadananda obliged him.

It was at that time, Abhishek noticed a wad of notes in Sadananda’s pocket, police said.

In no time, Abhishek picked up a quarrel and tried to snatch the money in the melee. When Sadananda resisted, he hit him and also slapped him. Sadananda collapsed and died instantly, they added.

Search operation is on for Abhishek, who is absconding.
