BFC score fourth win

Pawan scored a first-half brace as a developmental Bengaluru FC defeated Students Union 2-0 to register their fourth straight win in the BDFA Super Division League here on Monday.

Taking the field with just the under-19 players from the academy, Bengaluru FC didn’t score in a torrent like their previous three games but the colts ensured maximun points were achieved without much fuss at the Bangalore Football Stadium.

BFC started to attack from the word go with Rishabh Agarwal and Pradeep Ramesh pulling the strings in midfield as full-backs Niraad Bose and Prashanth Kalinga provided width down the flanks. It didn’t take long for The Blues to score with Pawan tapping home from inside the box after Kalinga’s fine cross from the right flank in the very second minute.

BFC double lead

Students Union attempted to restore parity but it wasn’t to be as the Blues piled the pressure, eager to double their lead. The second goal came in the 25th minute when Rushi Anto was brought down at the edge of the box. Rishabh’s perfectly executed set piece was nodded home by Pawan as he grabbed his second goal of the game.

Into the second half and holding a 2-0 advantage, the Blues kept the pressure on the Students Union defence with Rushi and Pradeep combining well in midfield.
