Anmol Uphar allows a unique way of celebrating important dates of life and get it in print forever. It gets you ‘original’ currency notes bearing the serial numbers same as the day of someone’s birthday, marriage anniversary or any other special day that you can gift them.

For example, if someone got married on January 1, 1990, you can gift them a currency of your choice (Rs 10, 100, and 1,000) that bears the serial number 010190. This is what www.anmoluphar.com is offering, and is heralding a new chapter in gifting.

“Gifts are an age-old and effective way to show your love for others. Every time we choose one, we look for something unique and thou-ghtful that the recipient will always cherish and this is the thought behind the venture,” founder Neeru Garg told Metrolife.

But how did the idea strike her? “I have been a homemaker and was helping my husband in his business. But it was only when I watched Milkha Singh on TV getting a similar gift, I got the idea. My husband supported me in this venture and hence Anmol Uphar came into being,” beamed the 58-year-old. 

The concept sounds interesting but what’s more interesting to know is where and how they get the currency from. Prachi Garg, daughter of Neeru Garg and a team member of Anmol Uphar admitted that getting a note with a particular serial number is “not easy”.

“We have a network that starts searching for the note as soon as we receive an order. We also go to the bank and request them for one. Though we don’t promise our clients, but we have a success report of 98 – 99 per cent. However, we discourage people to opt for Rs 1,000 note because of its lesser liquidity,” said 30-year-old Prachi.

One can also customise the gift by getting it framed with a picture, or a quote. They cost Rs 1,200 for a 100 rupee note.
