Mercedes-Benz is planning to expand its portfolio in the Indian market by launching 12 models in 2016.

“We will be enriching our product portfolio in India by launching 12 products in 2016. Some of them will be all-new, without any predecessors,” Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO Roland S Folger said.

The company also plans to increase its presence in terms of the number of outlets by adding ten new outlets during the year, Folger added. Presently, Mercedes-Benz India has 82 outlets across 40 Indian cities including three standalone Mercedes-Benz Certified outlets, making it the brand with the densest network presence in the luxury segment in India. Mercedes-Benz India registered a 32 per cent growth year-on-year by selling 13,502 units during January-December, 2015.

Meanwhile, the company has launched the GLE 450 AMG Coupé, a product without a predecessor in its Indian portfolio at a price of Rs 86.4 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The GLE 450 AMG Coupé features a powerful AMG-enhanced 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine, churning out an output of 270 kW (367 hp) with 520 Nm of Torque. The SUV Coupé sprints from 0-100 km/hr in just 5.7 seconds.
