Actor Meghana Raj is a bundle of nerves because two of her films ‘Noorondu Nenapu’ and ‘Jinda’ have released on the same day. She says that two films hitting the screen at the same time is like a gamble of sorts and the young star is keeping her fingers crossed.

She dubs ‘Noorondu Nenapu’ as a cool breeze and ‘Jinda’ as a whirlwind experience of sorts. In an interview with Nina C George, Meghana talks about why the two films are different.   

What’s your role in ‘Jinda’?
I play a naive village girl whose father is a rich landlord. She’s brought up amidst luxury but her life changes when she comes face to face with the Jinda gang — six unemployed notorious boys.

What made you accept ‘Jinda’?
The powerful narrative and strong dialogues drew me to this project. I had lengthy dialogues and every word has been penned down after a lot of thought.

We hear the film is based on a real incident...
The film is based on a real incident that took place in a small village and we have shot in real locations just to bring out the spirit of the film.

How was your experience of working on the film?
It was a huge challenge to portray the character. It was an emotionally exhausting
affair.
     
What gave you the confidence to take up the role?
The director’s confidence and belief that I would be able to pull off such a character gave me extra courage to go for it.

What’s the best thing about ‘Noorondu Nenapu’?
It shows how strong the emotion of love can be even at a time when there were no telephones or WhatsApp. There was no room for doubt or fear.
