Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil an action plan of the ‘Start-up India’, aimed at providing entrepreneurs impetus at the grass-root level, amid expectations that this year’s Budget will give tax relief on loans taken by the beginners.

“The launch event is aimed at celebrating the entrepreneurship spirit of the country’s youth, and will be attended by CEOs and founders of top startups from across India and abroad,” a statement from Prime Minister’s Office said on Friday.

The Prime Minister will visit a virtual exhibition and interact with startup entrepreneurs. He will release the Start-up Action Plan, and address the gathering, it said.

Modi’s arrival at the venue will be preceded by a day-long workshop on startup entrepreneurship, which shall include panel discussions on various aspects of the subject.

Enabling ecosystem

A unique question and answer session titled “Face-to-face with Policymakers” is also being organised wherein secretaries of key government ministries and departments will answer questions on how the government will be creating an enabling ecosystem for startups.

The objective is to reinforce the commitment of the government towards creating an ecosystem that is conducive for growth of startups.

The event shall also feature interactive talks with global leaders and venture capitalists such as Masayoshi Son, Founder and CEO, SoftBank and Adam Nuemann, Founder of WeWork.
