The High Court, on Friday, sought to know why the Railway authorities do not value the statements made by the Union minister in the Parliament about introducing special trains between Bengaluru and Mangaluru.

While hearing a PIL seeking direction to implement new trains announced in the Railway budget, division bench comprising acting Chief Justice S K Mukherjee and Justice Ravi Malimath questioned the Railway authorities as to why the new trains have not been introduced yet.

The counsel for the Railways argued that they need consent from the Commission of Railway Safety to relax certain conditions to start new trains from Bengaluru to Mangaluru.
The bench then passed an order to implead the Railway Safety Commissioner in the PIL and adjourned the hearing after 15 days.
