The eternal bridesmaids of the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore will have to get the right balance that has been eluding them for years. The two-time losing finalists boast of perhaps the most intimidating batting line-up in the entire league with the likes of skipper Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle batting among the top three. The trio has also been top-notch form in the assignments they have had in recent past.

In Mitchell Starc they have a quality fast bowler and if another tearaway from New Zealand, Adam Milne, remains fit for the tournament, they can form a potent pace force. It’s, however, the Indian component of the attack and batting that let them down. The Vijay Mallya-owned team has retained 14 players and with Rs 21.62 left in their purse, they may go for some talented Indians in Karun Nair and Stuart Binny. picking the two Karnataka players will also address the grievance that there is lack of local component in the team.

With RCB having off-loaded wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, they may target Sanju Samson who can bolster the batting.
