A father-son duo, who allegedly tried to sell a prime property worth several crores of rupees belonging to erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, landed in the police net.

The suspects, Edwin Samuel, 53, and his son Sandeep, 25, tried to sell the property by forging the signature of Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, wife of the royal scion, the late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, the jurisdictional Nazarbad police said.

They had created a fake document of the now-defunct Gunamba Trust building, measuring 150ft x130ft, on Dewan’s Road, according to a complaint lodged in November 2015 by Trust secretary Anantharaje Urs.

Pramoda Devi is the chairperson of the trust. Acting on the complaint, the police traced the issue to the sub-registrar’s office (East) at Kalyangiri. The suspects had entered into an agreement in 2013 to sell the property to four parties.
