Man slits throat, ends life

A 50-year-old man committed suicide by slitting his throat in Vidyaranyapura.

The deceased has been identified as Ramesh, a native of Hosapete. Ramesh was working at a hostel in Kodigenahalli had parted ways with his wife. He was living with his three children in Vidyaranyapura, according to the police. 

He had attempted suicide by setting himself on fire, but his family members had foiled the bid on Tuesday. 

However some time later, he ended his life by slitting his throat. The neighbours rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, added the police.

Woman found deadAn 83-year-old woman was found dead in a water sump of her house on Monday night in Sainagar Shrinidhi Layout in Vidyaranyapura. The deceased has been identified as Sarasamma and she had gone missing since February 13. He family members had lodged missing complaint.

The incident came to light on Monday night when the family members went near the sump at the backyard of the house and spotted the body floating. 

She was dead when the body was retrieved. The police have registered a case and said that there no foul play in the incident.
