A Kannada film producer attempted suicide by consuming poison due to financial crisis.
Shashikumar, a resident of Nandini Layout, was rushed to a private hospital and is stated to be out of danger, said the police.
At around 2 pm, Shashikumar parked his car near Kamakshipalya bus stop. He called up his wife and friends and told them that he would commit suicide, and consumed the poison used to kill bugs.
His wife and relatives rushed to the spot after receiving the news and shifted him to the hospital, added the police.
Movie troubleShashikumar is into real estate business and has produced a movie, by spending about Rs 3.2 crore, titled ‘Half Mentlu’. The movie stars all new-comers.
He landed in trouble as the movie was not released on time, added the police.
A case has been registered with the Kamakshipalya police.
