Mumbai-based Gujarati beauty Biaenca Desai, who entered the film industry through the Kannada film Rocky, will be debuting in Bollywood. Biaenca, one of the most sought-after actresses in Sandalwood, is acting alongside Arjun Sarja in a Hindi movie called Weekend’.

“I didn’t expect to enter Bollywood this early in my career. My acting career has just begun and I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the best directors of South India. Now Bollywood is happening with Weekend. This is an action thriller set in a jungle.”

“Tinu Verma, who has made films like Baaz and Maa Tuje Salaam, is directing this film. As Arjun has a magnificent fan following in Tamil and Telugu, the movie will be dubbed in those languages as well,” she says.  Since the beginning of her career, Biaenca has been working in multilingual projects.

Her film Coffee Shop with popular director Geetha Krishna is being made in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. “I have many films lined up for release like Coffee Shop and Sanchari.”

“We have already released the audio of Coffee Shop and the post production of the movie is going on. As it is a big project, dubbing and re-recording will take some more time. I will be going abroad soon to shoot some portions of Sanchari, directed by Kiran Govi of Payana fame,” she explains.

Biaenca has no intentions of shunning regional cinema even after finding her way into Bollywood. “It is the Kannada industry that gave me name and fame and Kannada is the only South Indian language I can speak fluently.”

“The audience here has never treated me like an outsider. I have also adjusted well with the industry and the city of Bangalore. I want to do more good films in Kannada,” says the actress who would like to do a double role similar to the one portrayed by Sri Devi in Chaal Baaz.

Biaenca likes to spend her free time reading, meeting up with friends and working out. She does not like to tweet or write on the Net. “One person tweeted on the Net about his family trip to abroad for 15 days. By the time he came back, his house was robbed completely. He himself had given the clue to the robbers. So I don’t want to reveal to the world what I am doing and where I am going,” she reasons.
