Cook stabbed to death

A cook was stabbed to death at Chikka Lalbagh near Upparpet police station on Monday afternoon.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.

According to the police, the victim had come to Chikka Lalbagh along with his friend and his lover. He raised an alarm and collapsed at around 11.45 am at Tulasi Park. The friend and his lover fled before a few people came to the victim’s rescue. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival, said the police.

The police suspect the involvement of the victim’s friend and his lover in the murder. It is said the victim and his friend were in love with the same woman and had come to the park to sort matters out.

The victim suffered only one stab wound on his throat which led to his death, said the police.

The body was shifted to Victoria Hospital for postmortem and a search is on for the couple, added the police.
