14.9 lakh to appear for CBSE class 10 exams

10.6 lakh students will face class 12 exams

As many as 14.9 lakh and 10.6 lakh students will be appearing for the CBSE class 10 and 12 exams respectively, this year.

According to a release from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSC), as many as 8.92 lakh are boys and the rest are girls. 

There has been a marginal increase of students appearing for the exams this year, when compared to last year. A total of 13.7 lakh students appeared for the class 10 exam and 10.4 lakh for the class 12 exam, last year.

The number of centres has been increased from 3,529, last year to 3,747 centres, this year for class 10. The number of  schools has been increased from 14,034 last year to 15,309 this year. For class 12, there is an increase of 3,357 (centres) and 10,121 (schools), from 3,163 (centres) and 9,406 (schools) respectively, last year.

Students will be connected to principals or counsellors in case of exam-related anxiety or stress. The helpline is operational from 8 am to 10 pm till April 22.

The CBSE will be counselling differently-abled children to address their needs and anxiety.  CBSE experts are also answering to the queries of students through weekly “Question-Answer” columns pub- lished in major national newspapers during February.
