Last Updated 26 February 2016, 02:28 IST
A 17-year-old youth was stabbed to death by unidentified men on Wednesday night while he was going through a park in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar. No arrest has been made in the case as of now, police said.

Police sources suspect that a man living in the neighborhood of the youth, identified as Vaasu, is behind the murder.

“The youth was stabbed to death by three-four unidentified people. We are investigating the motive and the identity of the killers,’’ said Parmaditya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central).

Vaasu’s father works in a private firm. The teenager was studying in class 10 through open learning.

On Wednesday morning, Vaasu allegedly had a heated argument with his neighbour Moghli. Following this, Moghli threatened him of dire consequences, said police sources.

According to sources, around 8 pm on Wednesday, when Vaasu was going towards his house through Bhim Park, four people on bike surrounded him and blocked his way.

The accused then allegedly stabbed Vaasu multiple times, leaving him to die on the park.

“He was found in the park on Thursday morning and was taken to the nearby Navjeevan Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead,’’ said a police officer.

Sources said Vaasu and Moghli had fought on several issues on earlier occasions too. Police are now questioning the parents and friends of the teenager.

A case of murder has been registered at Patel Nagar police station. The body has been handed over to the family members after post-mortem.
