JOIN USKannada film actress Prema on Wednesday moved the family court seeking separation from her husband Jeevan Appachchu. She filed a petition in the court seeking divorce under the Hindu Marriage Act Section 13(D).
The actress stated that her husband had consented to their separation. The court will now hear the petitioners and refer the matter to the counselling centre. An order would be passed thereafter.
Neravanda Chengappa Prema, a native of Kodagu, debuted in Sandalwood with ‘Savyasachi’ alongside Shivaraj Kumar. She married Appachchu, a software industrialist, in 2006.
Sources said the couple were living separately for the past few years following irreconciliable differences.Prema, who has acted also in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films, is the third Sandalwood actor moving the family court in the recent past seeking separation. Actors Sudeep and ‘Duniya’ Vijay were in the news for the same reason sometime back.
