Develop self-confidence, Motamma tells women

Speaking at women’s meet at Krishi mela in Kadur on Friday, she lamented that on the one hand, women are respected and on the other hand, she is tortured and humiliated. Women should develop self-confidence. Those who develop self-confidence are capable of acheiving success in various fields. Women are not given opportunities in some field. Women can come out of the four walls of the house only when she is economically independent. In this regard, SHGs play a vital role in empowering women.”

She said that women play a vital role in building a society. “Today’s youth are aping western culture. There is a need to put an end to it.” She called upon women to see that youth do not become victims of bad habits. She said women should protest when they meet with an injustice and ward off inferior complex.

Mrs Hemavathi V Heggade said women should make use of the opportunities available. SHGs have brought in changes across the country. Women should provide good education to their children by moving away from superstitious beliefs.

Beena Anuraje Gowda said that there is lack of self-confidence in women. Lack of support is also making her lagging behind in entering into any field.

Belthangady Grameena Shreshtatha Kendra Director Manorama Bhat, Chikmagalur former vice president Savithri Gangappa also spoke.
