With five days to go for the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League, the Royal Challengers Bangalore kick-started their training camp here at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday.

The Virat Kohli-captained side enjoyed an impressive season in the previous edition, reaching the knockout stage, where they were edged out by Chennai Super Kings in the Qualifier 2.
On Monday, barring Kohli, the other domestic players in the squad assembled for the camp. Kohli is expected to join the team on Thursday.

Local flavours KL Rahul, Praveen Dubey and Sreenath Arvind along with other domestic players such as Abu Nechim, Harshal Patel, Kedar Jadhav, Mandeep Singh, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Varun Aaron, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sachin Baby, Iqbal Abdulla, Akshay Karnewar,  hit the nets on Monday. Australia’s Kane Richardson was the only foreign player in the camp.

Overseas players Travis Head and David Wiese are expected to join the camp on Tuesday. The talismanic Chris Gayle and Australia’s Shane Watson, with 9.5 crore to his name, was the costliest buy of the auction this year and the all-rounder will join the squad on Wednesday.

RCB begin their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad here on April 12.
