Thimmegowda has enrolled as a PhD student in the Economics department in the Karnataka State Open University in Mysuru. He was staying at the room of one of his friends at the Jnanabharati campus of the Bangalore University, when he was arrested. A senior police official said that Thimmegowda was in touch with Shivakumar for the past seven years.

“Both the suspects had got the leaked question paper from Shivakumar and sold them to the students. The duo was part of the inner circle of Shivakumar. Thimmegowda was staying at BTM Layout till recently and later moved to Mysuru. However, he was arrested from his friend’s room in Bengaluru. The duo helped Shivakumar find students who would buy the paper.

Further probe in the matter is on,” the official said. With Monday’s arrests, the total number of arrests in the question paper leak case has gone up to 10.
