A Legislative Assembly committee on lake encroachment is scheduled to inspect a few lakes including the Sankey tank on Friday.
The committee headed by senior Congress MLA K B Koliwad will be visiting the Sankey tank, Singanayakanahalli lake and Bellandur lake. BJP MLA from Malleswaram Dr C N Ashwath Narayan had recently complained in the Legislative Assembly that a reputed builder was trying to encroach upon the catchment area of the Sankey tank.
The committee had recently released a list of encroachers of all lakes in Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts.
