Missing realtor found dead on road
A 52-year-old realtor was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Maruthi Layout in Chandra Layout on Friday night.

According to the police, the deceased Rajanna was into real estate business and was also a BJP worker. He had even filed nomination papers to contest in the previous BBMP elections but withdrew his nomination in the last minute.

On Friday night, Rajanna and his friend Nagaraj got into an argument near a restaurant on 80-feet Road in Chandra Layout. The passersby alerted the night patrol police, who went to the spot and asked them to leave the place, said the police.

Prema, wife of Rajanna, told the police that after Rajanna came home, a person called him on his mobile phone. Rajanna cut the call abruptly, left the house in a hurry in his bike, added the police.

Around 12.30 am, a passerby called the control room and informed about a body lying on the road along with the bike. The Byatarayanapura traffic police were alerted who examined the spot.  They alerted the Chandra Layout police, who also inspected the spot and found that Rajanna had suffered from severe head injuries. The family members were informed and Prema narrated to the police about his conversation over the mobile phone, the police mentioned.

“We have launched a manhunt to nab Nagaraj. His mobile phone has been switched off. Based on Prema’s statement that her husband was murdered, a case of suspicious death was registered. The postmortem report is being awaited to ascertain the cause of death,” said a senior police officer.
