Last Updated 05 June 2016, 17:40 IST

Uhlmann Pac-Systeme, one of the world's leading suppliers of packaging machinery for pharmaceutical products in blisters and bottles, is planning to invest €5 million in India.

“We will be initially investing €5 million in India. This investment will enable us to serve our existing clientele with our best line products and services besides looking to acquire new customers,” Uhlmann PAC-Systeme & Co Managing Director Siegfried Drost said.

“The investments will also help us to gradually increase the revenue contribution from India to the parent which is very small currently,” Drost added.

Uhlmann India is a wholly-owned sales and service company, which will locally support existing Indian customers and solicit new orders as of now. The company will have another sales office in Mumbai which will complement its presence, providing assistance on the project planning of new machines, the supply of tools and spare parts or support services.

According to Drost, the company is also considering manufacturing in the country. “With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make In India push, we are also looking at manufacturing in the country.”
