JOIN USKJP MLA B R Patil on Monday said he will move a privilege motion in the Legislative Assembly against the two television news channels for showing him in “bad light” in their sting operations ahead of the Rajya Sabha polls.
Patil is one of the MLAs shown in the sting operations by the channels reportedly discussing sale of votes for the Rajya Sabha polls. However, Patil has denied any involvement. Patil had already stated that he would be filing defamation cases against the two channels.
At a press conference, when he was asked whether Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had tried to woo some MLAs by offering Rs 100 crore special development grants to each of their constituencies, Patil replied in the negative.
“Some of us met the chief minister and told him that injustice was being meted out to our constituencies as grants were not being released on time,” he said.
