He may have won hearts by hosting several reality TV shows, but actor Rannvijay Singh says he does not see himself being a part of daily soaps.

Singh, best known as the host of Roadies, says he consistently refused offers to star in saas-bahu serials.

“I don’t think so I can do a daily soap. If I had to, I would’ve done it when I started getting offers (at the age of) 24-25, sometime around 2005. The amount of money I don’t make now was offered, but I didn’t,” Singh told PTI.

The actor, who worked in films like Action Replay and London Dreams, feels comfortable doing limited series.

“I am on for finite series. But something which doesn’t have a back story, goes on and on, I am not interested. There’s no life (in daily soaps),” he said.

“I need to earn money to live a life. If I don’t have a life, then what will I do with the money? I have enough ways to generate money by doing things I love,” Rannvijay said.

The actor will be next seen with Bollywood star Sunny Leone co-hosting season 9 of MTV reality show Splitsvilla.

For the second time, Rannvijay will pair up with the Ek Paheli Leela star for the show.

“She (Sunny) is a fun loving person, doesn’t stress about small things or throws tantrums. She gets involved and then it becomes easier to be part of the show. It is always amazing to work with her,” he said.

Splitsvilla season 9 will have 15 men (warriors) trying to woo six women (princess) and has the tag line, “where women rule”.

Singh says the change in the show’s format was much needed for keeping up with today’s times.
“I liked that it changed, otherwise the question arises why are you doing it again and again. Something like this had to be done, to let people know that women are equal to men. It may take years for people to completely accept that, but we have to do it,” he said.

The show premiers on June 11.
