180 constructions permitted online by SDMC

One hundred-and-eighty digital building construction permits were issued online by South Delhi Municipal Corporation through single window clearance system (SWCS) and common application form (CAF).

The single window clearance mechanism was introduced on May 27 for the first time. The system helps timely completion and delivery of projects.

South Mayor Shyam Sharma on Wednesday stated that submission of building plan application through online mode was gaining popularity in the capital.

"SDMC has been organising workshops for the three MCD's to impart training to their engineers, architects and other stake holders under Delhi Urban Art Commission and Airport Authority of India to make them aware about the new online system," he said in a statement.

Further, the participants are being asked to raise queries and submit suggestions to make the system more smooth.

The municipal corporation has also enlarged the ambit of the categories under the new system by including the category of the group housing, institutional building for education, health and cultural activities.

Now online applications through digital mode under 'Single Window Clearance System and Common application Form' will also be accepted under the new categories added in the list.

Now, each process of application for sanction of building plans can be accessed and viewed by Sharma at any stage on one click only. Also, personal visits to office will not required anymore.

The other benefits include, tracking of status of application by applicant through online mode at any stage, applicant can download the digitally signed sanction letter through online mode, number of procedures has been reduced; timeline for sanction process reduced, multiple affidavits have also been converted into single affidavit, thereby considerably reducing the documentary requirements and applicant as well as general public can also view the list of architects and structural engineers empanelled with Municipal Corporations on its website among others.
