Somanna shines for Bangalore Zone

Aditya Somanna’s six-wicket haul helped Bangalore Zone garner three points from their drawn encounter against Combined City XI in the KSCA under-23 SA Srinivasan memorial tournament at Alur (3) ground here.

Resuming from their overnight score of 12/4, in response to Bangalore Zone’s 317/6, Combined were all out for 240 in 56.1 overs. Somanna was the most successful bowler for Bangalore, finishing with figures of 6/52.

Arshdeep Singh Brar slammed a patient 128 (150b, 12x4, 8x6) but failed to find able support from the rest of the batsmen as Combined handed their opponents a 77-run lead.

In their second essay Bangalore scored 120/6 in 35 overs before the match ended in a draw. Based on their first innings lead, Bangalore walked home with three points while Combined settled for one point.       

In an other match, responding to Bangalore City’s 372 all out in 89.4 overs, President’s XI rode on a first wicket stand of 213 between Kayan Abbas (91) and Rohan Kadam (111) to post 383/7 in 90 overs before the game ended in draw. President XI’s bagged three points.
