However, the BJP government did neither present pro-people administration, nor gave adequate power supply,” said CPM Mangalore City Committee Secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal.

Addressing a protest organised by the CPM City Committee against the frequent power cuts in front of the MESCOM Office here on Monday, Bajal said that people in urban and rural areas in the district face inconvenience due to the frequent power cuts. “The government had promised free power supply for agriculture purpose. However, it is a fact that there is no proper power supply, even if the farmer is ready to pay the electricity bill,” he criticised.
Talking about the plight of students, Bajal said that those poor students, who dream of higher education, are not able to prepare for examinations due to power cuts. Government and the MESCOM authorities should wake up and respond to people’s demand by providing sufficient power supply, he said and emphasised that the power cuts should be stopped immediately.  CPM leader Sukumar and others were present.
