KSCA polls on August 7

Brijesh Patel and his team, the ruling dispensation at the Karnataka State Cricket Association, will seek re-election in the polls to be held on August 7.

With the Supreme Court likely to deliver its verdict on the implementation of Lodha Committee recommendations to reform the functioning of the BCCI and its affiliate units, it could have a bearing on the KSCA elections. But with the by-laws stipulating that the elections be held by September 30, a decision to this effect was taken at the Managing Committee meeting held last week.

If the SC gives a favourable verdict, it could be a smooth sailing for Brijesh and company as there is hardly any formidable challenge for them. Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath, who were at the helm from 2010-2013, pre-occupied with their respective jobs, the ruling regime may even be elected unanimously.
The last date for filing nomination is July 23.
