Thanks to a serious role in her debut movie Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Chitrangada Singh feels she is being typecast. She is now looking forward to play a character that will allow her to sing and dance Bollywood style.

“It has been so difficult for me to come out of the shadow of my character Geeta Rao
in Hazaaron... I am not complaining, but the problem is the way you have been
portrayed in your debut movie; you get stuck in an image,” said the 27-year-old actress.

“Despite this, I am very fond of Geeta Rao. But at the same time, I am very much looking for a change and would love to do a regular Bollywood film with a lot of song and dance, and yes, my role has to be meaty,” she added.

Chitranganda was in New Delhi to announce the launch of a popular fashion brand’s customer loyalty programme. The actress, who was last seen in Sorry Bhai and also did the movie Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow, says she is a very good dancer and is looking forward to doing all kinds of roles. “I have been dancing all my life. Acting happened just by chance, though it sounds clichéd, it is a fact. If not an actor, I would have been a fashion designer,” admitted Chitrangada.

Married to Indian golfer Jyoti Randhawa, this gorgeous woman is often compared to the legendary Smita Patil, courtesy her looks. Chitrangada takes that as a compliment but says it is not a good idea to compare her with the latter. “I know where I am and where she (Smita Patil) is. It is a huge compliment to be compared to her, but the problem is that if my film doesn’t do well, then the media starts saying negative stories. So it’s like one day I am like Smita Patil and the next day I am not. It just hurts,” explained Chitrangada.

Chitrangada is again working with Sudhir Mishra, who directed her in Hazaaron..., in a yet-to-be titled movie. “Apart from Mishra’s movie, there are two more projects and the announcement will be made in March. So I feel it is too early to talk about it,” she said. Talking about her role in Mishra’s new movie, Chitrangada said, “I am playing a singer who plays the guitar. It is a different role and I hope it will break the assumption of me doing serious roles only.”

Apart from movies, endorsements are also keeping the actress busy. Currently she is the face of a cosmetic and a biscuit brand. According to Chitrangada, associating with a credible brand helps Bollywood stars reach out to more people. Describing her personal style statement as classical, Chitrangada said, “I don’t like bling in clothes. I like to wear something that is classical as well as contemporary.”

Ajay’s a cool daddy

Ajay Devgan is always known to take time out for his daughter Nysa’s daily activities irrespective of his busy work schedule. Well this time too, while shooting for one of his forthcoming movies, Ajay was accompanied on the sets by none other than his adorable daughter Nysa who he was babysitting while Kajol was busy shooting in Australia.

A source on the sets revealed that Nysa would be present on the sets daily and would be engrossed with her video games while Ajay was busy shooting. What’s more, whenever Ajay would be free, he would also join Nysa in her games and would make sure she was comfortable and enjoyed herself on the sets.

Well it seems like Nysa is one lucky girl with daddy dearest mastering the art of multi-tasking.

Scene involving several retakes

We recently came to know about Konkona Sen Sharma’s tiring experience while shooting for a song for her upcoming comedy movie, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? While Konkona was shooting for the song, wherein she had to perform an aarti by lighting a diya during the shot.

The actress experienced a really tough time while lighting the diya.

Our source on the sets revealed that whenever the director called the shot, Konkona would light the diya but due to some reason or the other, the diya wouldn’t burn or would blow off by itself.

This kept happening several times and Konkona was really frustrated by the whole situation as she ended up taking several shots until the diya finally lit. Well, we hope all the pain that Konkona took for the song pays off on screen.

JLo performs Rihanna style

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, so hopefully Rihanna saw the funny side when Jennifer Lopez impersonated her on the hit US TV show Saturday Night Live.

Wearing a short blonde wig styled like Rihanna and a military jacket, Lopez sang in the same style as the Disturbia star in a spoof of the We Are The World single.

The 40-year-old singer included Rihanna’s trademark in the song and also dropped in a few lines of one of her big hits Umbrella with the riff of ella... ella... ella. She was joined by the show’s other comedians, dressed as Gwen Stefani, Lady GaGa, Shakira and Willie Nelson, among others. The mother-of-two’s Rihanna impersonation was just one of several skits she took part in as she hosted the popular weekend show.

She opened the show with a monologue wearing a tight black dress, which drew attention to her famous asset, her curvy behind. Lopez announced last week she had left Sony Records after spending ten years on the label’s roster. She insisted it was a mutual decision, but record executives were rumoured to be unhappy with the commercial response to her latest singles Louboutins and Fresh Out Of The Oven.
