Preparations on for Pashu Bhagya implementation

Animal Husbandry Department Deputy Director Dr C Nagaraju has said that interested persons can obtain applications from their nearest government veterinary hospital or the department’s office at taluks for Pashu Bhagya scheme and submit the filled-in applications before August 14.

Chairing a meeting on the implementation of the scheme on Tuesday, he said subsidy up to Rs 1.20 lakh would be provided to rear cattle, pigs, chicks, goat and lambs, he added.

Two cattle would be provided under the scheme and a unit cost of Rs 1.20 lakh is fixed for the purpose. Similarly, Rs 94,000 would be provided towards the rearing of four pigs. The unit cost for rearing 11 goats is Rs 67,440 and Rs 85,000 for rearing poultry chicken.

A target of 196 beneficiaries has been fixed for diary farming, including 137 in General category, 17 from SC and eight from ST. It has been planned to provide 34 cows to women, he explained.

Under goat rearing, a beneficiary would be provided 11 goats. A target of 19 General, two SC and a total of 21 beneficiaries has been fixed.

Under pig rearing one family will be given four pigs. General - 9, SC- 2 ST - 1 and a total of 12 beneficiaries target is set.

Under poultry farming, a target of 200 poultry units has been set (General -15, SC-3, ST-2 and a total of 20 beneficiaries).

Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yogana and Amrith project will come under the ambit of Pashu Bhagya scheme, he said and added that wives of deceased men, specially abled women and third genders, would also be brought under the scheme.
