The sleuths recovered two daggers used by the murderers to commit the crime. However, the two arrested, Siddique and Ismail, were not in the original list of accused prepared by the Kerala police. The daggers, one of them ‘S’  shaped, were recovered from Ismail who had been hiding them after the crime. The duo has been charged with hiding the daggers used to commit the crime.

The recovery of the real daggers used in the murder has put Kerala cops in the tight spot. The police had claimed that they “recovered” weapons from from the house of Kari Satheesh, the prime accused in the case.

Satheesh’s mother had accused the cops of planting the dagger in the house while arresting her son. In fact, the camera of a local TV channel had even caught a plainclothesman placing the dagger under the cot at that time.

The CBI’s first move after taking over the case came in less than a week’s time after completing a detailed questioning of all those arrested and lodged in the Viyyur Central Jail.
Among the accused is a ten-member gang. The arrested duo as well as the daggers were presented before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate later in the day.
