Ahmad lost control over the car and crashed it into the median strip. Shaikh, who wasn’t wearing seat belt, was heaved into the windscreen, and sustained severe head injuries. Ahmad was injured too. Passersby took them to hospital but Shaikh was declared brought dead.

Ahmad is said to be stable. Shaikh and Ahmad hail from Proddatur, Andhra Pradesh, and had come to Bengaluru for shopping.

Sadashivanagar traffic police concluded that Ahmad’s rash driving caused the accident.
