Andhra man killed as car crashes into median strip

A 35-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh travelling in a car was killed when the vehicle crashed into the median strip on CV Raman Road near Mehkri Circle, north Bengaluru, around 10.45 pm on Monday.

Karimullah Shaikh was sitting next to his friend, Shahrukh Ahmad, who was at the wheel. Two other friends were sitting in the rear seat. The group was going out for dinner.

Ahmad lost control over the car and crashed it into the median strip. Shaikh, who wasn’t wearing seat belt, was heaved into the windscreen, and sustained severe head injuries. Ahmad was injured too. Passersby took them to hospital but Shaikh was declared brought dead.

Ahmad is said to be stable. Shaikh and Ahmad hail from Proddatur, Andhra Pradesh, and had come to Bengaluru for shopping.

Sadashivanagar traffic police concluded that Ahmad’s rash driving caused the accident.
