The title says it all. And the guest who overstays is Paresh Rawal. The chachaji barges in one fine day and starts breaking so much wind that Konkona Sen Sharma almost runs out of air freshners.

Scriptwriter husband Ajay Devgan has a more accommodating nose. He bears with his cranky kin for a few more days. After that, patience is no longer a virtue.
And the couple starts devising ways to flush out the small-town bug from their cosy apartment.

Atithi... starts off well and  Rawal evokes some laughs (his spoof of the beedi jalaile number is fun). It’s fresh and simple for some time.

Then the film takes the Baaghban route and director Ashwini Dhir decides to give some moral science lessons. Soon everyone’s views change. One Ganesh Chaturthi and chachaji is the apple of the neighbourhood’s eye.

Konkona Sen and Ajay Devgan do a fine job while Paresh Rawal gets repetitive with his good old man act.

“Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge” has a message. But it need not have been so loud and clear.
