Member of Parliament Shobha Karandlaje said Indians should self-introspect about its achievements in the last 70 years.

She was speaking after inaugurating the youth festival and the concluding ceremony of the Tiranga Yatra (vehicle rally) organised to mark 70th Independence Day by the district BJP.

Shobha said the increasing instability, especially on the Indo-Pak and Indo-China borders, is the failure of the country in embarking upon strong military forces and the self-reliance in the arms.

She said the country still imports 85% of the weapons required for the armed forces and the police from foreign countries. The increasing insurgence  has damaged the country’s integrity. The democracy has come in without the real freedom. The farmers are ending their lives due to the debt. Unemployment among the youths is increasing. Women are not safe and are the victims of the brutal violence, she said.

Expressing apprehensions over increasing insecurity at the border, the MP said the soldiers are sacrificing their precious lives to safeguard the  country.

She urged the political parties to end vote bank politics and sincerely work for security.  There should not be any political agenda against the security, protection and the unity of the country, she urged.

The MP added that the BJP-led NDA government has released Rs 1 lakh crore for the weapons required for the armed forces after the party came to power.

“China is also breeding the terror modules in the PoK, apart from Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim,” she said and urged people should react and fight to take back the land illegally encroached by China and Pakistan.
