Girl shines with dancing talent

At a tender age of ten years, she is performing various types of dances Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, fire dance, Karagam and also film dance.

Remona Ivet Pereira, an upcoming talent in the field of dance, started to learn dance from Suresh Attavar when she was four years old. Now, she is persuing training in Bharatanatyam from Uma Kalluraya. She was also initiated to Yakshagana and folk dance by Manoj Katipalla.

Remona is currently studying in sixth standard at Mount Carmel Central School in Mangaluru. Apart from her dancing talents, she is also a topper in studies and has been taking part in various activities in school and grabbing prizes.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, she said even though she is busy with school and other activities she doesn’t find it tiresome. She leaves from house at seven in the morning and reaches home at round seven in the evening. After school hours, she attends dance, music and skating classes. She learnt Karagam dance by her own efforts. These days, she has been performing Bharatanatyam on skating rolls, which is an unique experiment.

She said that the dance performance by her in Jaganmohana Palace, Mysuru, was memorable as the crowd was very supportive. The number of stage performances by her in and around Mangaluru crosses 200. She said that her parents, school teachers and friends are her strength. Remona added that she spires to be a dance teacher.
